ABOUT JANE:

          After many years of wearing different hats on my career track, living various roles, having extraordinary adventures, and experiencing the joy of meeting people from all walks of life, the decision to start a country lodge was a natural evolution for me. 

          I began my life in Raleigh, North Carolina and left after my education in my 20’s to live in Italy.  I’m a gypsy by nature and traveling and exploring new horizons has always captured my imagination.  From that early experience of living abroad, I grew to love traveling in foreign lands, learning new languages, absorbing different cultures and realizing that everyone in the world has the same basic needs:  to be happy, to feel good, to feel safe and be acknowledged.  This universal connection influenced the road I chose to travel down – with lots of exploratory side roads along the way! -and to make me want to give back as much as possible.

                   My career span of over 25 years has lead me through the fields of interior design, television commercial production, casting agent, disc jockeying in the Caribbean, travel agency owner, animal trainer, national salesperson for a line of training equipment, llama breeder and trainer, and to my development and ownership of a luxury country retreat. 

           Kahikatea Country Retreat is an idyllic respite from the stressors of life where people from all over the world come to rejuvenate mind, body, and spirit. 

I have been blessed to be living in paradise where I’m able to host the most wonderful guests. I hope that your journeys will bring you here to discover the joy of reconnecting to nature, to yourself, and to the true spirit of peace.
